De Zondaggschool #2: 'Solutions, Things to do and not do'
On Sunday afternoon 2 December, Impakt organises the second edition of the Sunday School series in Theatre Kikker. As usual, Sunday School addresses the common ground between arts, science and media. The central theme of this edition is ‘Solutions’.
What do you mean problems? Artists, researchers and Do-It-Yourselfers have the solutions ready. And Sunday School gives them a platform. They provide answers to today’s big issues, such as: what can you do with DNA? But also day-to-day problems will be tackled. 2012Architects give us the solution for the waste problem. And Jan Jongert shows us how waste can be converted into construction material. The Utrecht-based community Atalanta, which is unsurpassable in its utopianism and has been living in a sustainable manner for years, shows how an attitude of radical change can be a source of merriment.
But you can also do it yourself. A designer presents projects in the field of DiY, hacking and prototyping. And how to deal with the increasing influence of media and bureaucracy? Here, media artist Martijn Engelbregt comes to our rescue, together with a number of video artists providing even more solutions. Your host for this edition of Sunday School will be Klaas Kuitenbrouwer. Be there and gain wisdom.
