Impakt Event/Impakt Works: Wayne HorseWayne Horse is an artist of German origin. In his early teens, he started off as a graffiti artist in the German graffiti scene. During his studies at the Amsterdam Rietveld Academy, he broadened his horizon. The graffiti stayed but Horse also started working with video, painting, calligraphy, animation and dolls. For a complete idea of the versatile work of Wayne Horse, please visit: www.waynehorse.com. During the spring and summer of 2007, Wayne Horse was a Resident Artist at Impakt and worked on his latest production Elephant Boy: “A short film about digging holes, saving time and a black elephant boy growing up.” We are witness to Elephant Boy’s search for a place in this world and are also introduced to his parents, the Haribows, the Freefighter and the Whilt World. The film combines a diverse range of techniques (video mixed with cartoons and animated dolls) and influences (opera, tell-sell, Mexican wrestling, reality television, graffiti, cartoons, etc.). At this Impakt Event, Wayne Horse will present Elephant Boy and also show older work. In addition, Wayne Horse will go into his sources of inspiration by screening a selection of fragments from cult movies and music videos. At the presentation, Wayne Horse will be interviewed by Bart Rutten.
